Red Herring Puppets creates custom puppets and costumes for television, film, theatre, and special events. We offer curriculum-based performances and residencies for schools, libraries, and festivals.
Lisa Sturz, Artistic Director has earned an Emmy award and the UNIMA award for excellence in American Puppetry. She has worked with Henson Productions, Lucasfilm, PBS, Disney Imagineering, NBC, Asheville Symphony, Indiana School of Music and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Film and TV credits include several Elmo in Grouchland, Muppets in Space, RoboCop 2, Ninja Turtles III, the Flintstones, Gremlins, Murphy Brown, Puzzle Place, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Batman Returns. She is a certified teaching artist leading hands-on residencies and is an adjunct professor at Warren Wilson College.
