Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We have been family owned for over 25 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in commercial interiors, furniture and flooring services for Western Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Since my mother started the business, I was able to help from the start. Each summer, for the first 3 years of the business, I would go door to door handing out catalogs to businesses and trying to generate business. I helped deliver and install and watched and learned from my mother and father on the details of business. After graduating from college my parents were moving from the area and asked if I would be interesting in continuing in the business. I graduated on a Monday and found myself sitting in a chair the next Monday trying to figure out the next steps and future for the business. I knew that I really enjoyed interacting with people and helping them find satisfaction in their choices. I worked hard to learn to be a professional in our industry while focusing on excellence in service and products. My education in business management greatly helped me as I started and grew PBI. I found by surrounding myself with great people with common vision we could accomplish anything we strived for. I was blessed to have my sister join me several years into this process and we have worked as a team to make PBI what it is today.
