How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Co-Owner Tom Fellenbaum has been building instruments and play music for over 40 years. His banjo-playing wife and partner has been restoring violins since 2005.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We cater to acoustic musicians, especially those in traditional genres such as bluegrass, old time, celtic, and folk. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff provide comprehensive instrument care, including setup, repair, pickup installation and sound advice.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Only one location, no plans to expand

We're in downtown Black Mountain, just 15 miles east of Asheville. Exit I-40 at Exit 64, head north into town, cross the railroad tracks. Go 'straight through' the next intersection (it's a dogleg), which is where Broadway/Montreat Road/Hwy 9 crosses State Street/US70 (you'll see a new park, Town Hardware, and Tyson's Furniture at this intersection). Turn left into the very first parking lot you can turn into; we're in the back of this lot, behind White Horse Black Mountain.

Stephanie Wilds and husband Tom Fellenbaum, with Matt Kinne and David Zoll, showroom staff, and Matt Hannafin, repair technician.
What are your hours of operation?
10 - 7 M - F, 10 - 5- Saturday
